  • BEUC published recommendations in response to the European Commission's call under Article 28(1) of the Digital Services Act.

  • The Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (DPO) ruled that the EU’s GDPR requires cellphone operators to provide subscribers access to their subscription data

  • EU’s Commission sent information requests to YouTube, Snapchat, and TikTok under DSA.

  • AEPD released a guide on the protection of children and adolescents in the digital environment.

  • Germany’s Federal Constitutional Court issued a ruling on data collection and storage by police.

   

AMERICAS

  • FCC settled with T-Mobile US, Inc. for USD 15.75 million to resolve an investigation regarding data breaches suffered by T-Mobile in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

  • FCC and the Department of Education published a Cybersecurity Guide for schools.

  • Connecticut enacted its Online Privacy Act provisions on children's data.

   

ASIA PACIFIC

  • OAIC closed the investigation into 7-Eleven Stores Pty Ltd following the uplift of privacy practices.

  • Korea’s Personal Information Protection Commission published a case-based “Guide to Data Subjects’ Rights Regarding Automated Decisions”.

  • OAIC registered the new Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code 2024, enhancing privacy protections for Australians' credit information and providing clearer guidelines.
